Invitation to Play
What I love most about activities like these is that they are an open-ended invitation to create, explore, touch, feel, and let your child’s imagination run wild! Sit back and enjoy their creations!
My kiddos started out by making snowmen and then brought in some fun Christmas themed cookie cutters to make snowflakes and stars with their cloud dough.
We store our cloud dough in a plastic baggy and use it for about 2 weeks before we toss it because toddlers like to drop cloud dough on the floor and it can only stay nice and clean for so long!
Snow Cloud Dough Recipe
First, mix baking soda, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan. Place saucepan on stove top and turn heat to medium-low.
Stir the mix for about 5-8 minutes. Once the mixture begins bubbling, you are almost finished!
Take your saucepan off the heat when your mixture has formed a ball. Knead your mixture. The mixture will be hot, so be careful!
Once your mixture has cooled slightly, add in the vanilla extract and continue to knead the dough. You can also color your dough at this point if you’d like to.

While this cloud dough is taste safe, we do not recommend eating it. It's great for toddler play without the worry however!
The snow cloud dough should be stored in a sealed baggie when not in use and lasts up to two weeks.
Pair your snow cloud dough with some snowman decorations to create an invitation to play!
