Green Ogre Slime Supplies
- 3/4 cup white glue
- 2-3 drops glycerine (you can find this in most pharmacies or OTC sections)
- 1 drop yellow food coloring
- 1 drop green food coloring
- Wooden popsicle sticks
- 2 teaspoons borax
- 1/4 cup water
- A sealable plastic baggie or a plastic container with a lid
- 2 small plastic or glass containers (we used clear plastic cups)

How to Make Oozing Ogre Slime for Halloween Sensory Fun!
Prepare Ogre Goo Mixture in 1st Container
Mix the white glue, glycerine, and food coloring in a small plastic or glass container. We used clear plastic cups that we had on hand from another project. Use your wooden popsicle stick to stir the mixture.
Too much glycerine will make your ooze too runny!

Prepare Borax Mixture in 2nd Container
In your other plastic container, have an adult mix the borax with the water. Use the wooden popsicle stick to mix until most of the borax is dissolved.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the borax solution into the ogre goo in your first container. Be sure to pour slowly!

The mixture should begin to form a stringy texture. Keep adding the borax mixture and stirring until the ogre slime starts to hold together.
Please note: You may not need to add all of the borax mixture.

Ogre Slime Sensory Fun
When your slime holds together well, you can pick up the ogre ooze from the container and turn yourself into an ogre!

Try the activity again and change the amount of glycerine you use! We changed our slime up 4 different times and created different colored slime so that we could compare our results!

Do not put slime in your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, or any other open body part! Make sure you don’t have any cuts!

After playing with your slime, wash your hands well and pour the remaining borax solution down the drain.
How to Store Ogre Slime
You can store your slime for up to 3 days in a sealable plastic bag or plastic container with lid. We like to keep our slime in plastic slime containers.
Do not flush the ogre slime or put it down the drain. Dispose of your ogre slime in the garbage only.

Ogre Slime Science
White glue contains polyvinyl alcohol, or PVA. When PVA comes into contact with the borax solution, it changes due to a chemical reaction that takes place. In this reaction, the molecules of PVA join together to form polymers.
When these polymers come together, they form an oozing slime! When you change the amount of glycerine in your mixture, you can make ogre Halloween slime that is more runny or less runny!

We Put the Boo in KaBOOm with this STEAM Activity
We set out to use items around the house to observe how a chemical reaction produces a new substance. Just kidding, we set out to make something EXPLODE.
To do that, we sat down and learned all about acids, bases, and chemical reactions and applied what we knew to our daily lives. I bored the kids with chemical equations and talked their ears off until surely they thought we weren’t doing anything exciting. Then, things went kaBOOm and they were thrilled!
